27th Annual Clifton Arts & Musicfest Tomorrow

The big day is here.  So plan to enjoy the live entertainment, the fine art and the delicious food while relaxing in our beautiful lakefront neighborhhood. Spend the day from 10 AM - 6 PM soaking up the artsy flavor of Clifton Boulevard while visiting with friends and enjoying the unique shops and stops on Clifton. 

Ice Cream Social at Cudell Commons

It is a wonderful green oasis in the neighborhood called Cudell Commons and it's owned by you - the taxpayer.  So come on down on Saturday from 12-2 PM to celebrate the summer and enjoy a free ice cream treat with representatives of the Cleveland Police Department and Cudell Improvement's Midwest Safety Team..

HOMEToday  Scheduled for July

We're shaking things up for the summer session of HOMEToday! Instead of four, two hour sessions, we are hosting two, four hour Saturday sessions for those that had trouble carving out time during the week.  Those registering will gain lots of financial literacy information along with homebuying and money management skills, be entitled to one on one financial counselling and become eligible to get up to $2,000 towards the down payment of a house and up to $650 in closing costs upon completion of the course requirements.  Adults may register today by calling Third Federal, program sponsor, at 216.441.7345.  The sessions are being hosted by Cudell Improvement, Inc. and Bellaire Puritas Development Corporation and held at 9821 Lorain Avenue.  Light breakfast and lunch will be served.  Pre registration is a must. 

Web-Based Consumer's Guide to Efficient Homes Available

The Department of Housing and Urban Development is making available A Consumer's Guide to Energy-Efficient and Healthy Homes via the web that will help consumers improve energy-efficiency and air quality in their homes.  Go to http://www.huduser.org/portal/consumer/home.html for all the good information.

Free Help for Struggling Homeowners

Are you struggling to make your mortgage payment? Has your income dropped because of becoming unemployed or illness?  This event will provide you wih the opportunity to meet with a HUD-approved housing expert to identify solutions that best suit your situation.  Call 888-995-HOPE (4673) for free help.  The event will be at Cleveland Convention Center - Grand Ballroom on Tuesday, June 24 from 10 AM - 8 PM. Complimentary parking is available at Huntington Park Garage, 101 West Lakeside Avenue. 

Cleveland Offers Free Summer Meals to Kids 

The city of Cleveland Department of Recreation is sponsoring the Summer Food Service Program for children.  Free meals will be available Monday through Friday for all youth up to 18 years of age or persons over 18 with documented mental or physical disabilities.  The meals are served at all recreation centers and public libraries in the city of Cleveland.

Cudell Recreation Center Hosts Extended Summer Hours

Thanks to a generous grant from the Cleveland Foundation, Cudell Recreation Center will remain open until 11 PM four nights a week.  Cudell Rec Center will host a midnight basketball league  as well as game room activities and swimming.  Call Cudell Rec Center at 216. 664. 4137 for full details.

Edgewater LIVE - Every Thursday

All our neighbors were rockin' and rollin' at Edgewater Park last Thursday evening.  Why don't you plan to join them each Thursday night until August 14 for live music, food trucks and happy hour on the beach?

Farewell to St. Thomas Lutheran Church

The community is saddened by the closing of St. Thomas Lutheran Church on Lake Avenue.  The church has been an active and valuable member of the community for years but has fallen in membership as many others have.  The Church has merged with another Lutheran Church.
