All those who complete the four workshops (May 8,15, 22,29) will become well versed in making sound financial decisons and qualify to receive $2000 towards the down payment of a home from sponsor Third Federal Savings & Loan. EnhanceClifton Project Underway; Shop Locally to Help Businesses During Construction
RTA has begun its transit enhancement project on Clifton Blvd. and the ultimate transformation will be fantastic. New transit waiting environments, new signage, bus only lanes during rush hours and landscaped medians in some parts of Clifton. However, there will be some pain during the next eight months. Please remember to patronize local Clifton businesses as they will need all the support they can get during construction. Fashion Month Begins April 1 at Lorain Branch Library
The Lorain Branch Library at 8216 Lorain Avenue is hosting Fashion Month and will kick it off with a Fashion Show meet and greet on Tuesday, April 1 at 4:30 PM. The library's work studio will be open April 8, 15 and 22 from 3 - 6 PM for participants to transform fashion designs using sewing machines, provided materials and individual's creativity. The hard work and creativity will cullminate in a Fashion Show on April 29th at 4:30 PM. Stop in the Library to register or call 216.623.7011.
Free Dental Screenings for Kids on April 5
Cuyahoga Community College will offer free dental screenings to children 17 and younger from 9 AM - 2 PM on Saturday, April 5th at the Metropolitan Campus Dental Hygiene Clinic in the Health Careers and Sciences Building, 2900 Community College Avenue. Service Academy Seminars Scheduled
Information sessions are designed for students who are interested in applying for the Air Force Academy, Military Academy of West Point, Naval Academy and the Merchant Marine Academy. Don't Blue Bag It - Just Dump It in the Recycling Can
The Division of Waste Collection asks that those who have the city of Cleveland's blue recycling cans to no longer place recyclables in plastic bags before placing items in the cans for collection. The plastic bags impede separation and often disguise garbage that is mistakenly placed in the recycling cans. The City requests that acceptable recyclable items be dumped directly into the blue recycling cans.
Public Tours of Glenn Research Center Facilities Offered
NASA's Glenn Research Center will offer public tours of several of its laboratories and other facilities one Saturday a month from April to October. The Center is located at 21000 Brookpark Road, and the tours are free, open to all U.S. Citizens and lawful permanent residents. Some other restrictions apply. Initiative and the Office of Inclusion & Diversity for the MetroHealth premiere of the H.E.A.L documentary that highlights how a community can be transformed through the lens of healthy eating and active living. We are all worried about those who speed and run red lights. Every family has suffered the heartbreak of injury to loved ones and friends. The Portable Camera Units help remind drivers to slow down to protect our community - especially the children. Watch for the units at West 104 and Madison, 12500 Berea Road, 7600 Clark Avenue, 9700 Denison Avenue and 15900 Lorain Avenue. No worries if observing the speed limit!
Easter Egg Hunt on April 5th at Gunning Recreaction Center
The Division of Cleveland Police and the Community Relations Committee are pleased to sponsor an Easter Egg Hunt and Crime Prevention Fair on Saturday, April 5th from 12 - 2 PM at Gunning Recreation Center, 16700 Puritas Avenue. The Egg Hunt (for children up to age 12) starts promptly at 12:30 PM. Free pizza, beverages and prizes.
Biking Skills Clinic at Lorain Branch Library on April 3rd
The Lorain Branch Library at 8216 Lorain Avenue wants everyone to be safe riding their bikes since it is such good exercise and great for the environment. A clinic on Traffic Skills will be held on Thursday, April 3 at 5:30 PM. All are welcome.
Condolences to Family of Papa Nick
A real icon in the merchant community passed away recently and will be very much missed on Clifton Boulevard.
