New Restaurant to Open on Madison Avenue

Very pleased to report that a new restaurant will be opening after March 1 at 10401 Madison Avenue (adjacent to the sunflower garden) called A Tasty Affair.  A delicous menu is planned with many healthy options included.  More info will be available soon.

Cuyahoga County Has New Hotline to Connect with Services for Seniors and Disabled Adults

Cuyahoga County has a new centralized hotline to help seniors and disabled adults connect with the services they need. The phone number is 216.420.6700.  Those in need of services may find out about what is available for those 60 and over and/or those with disabilities from 18 - 59 who are living in private residences.  More information is available also at http://dsas.cuyahogacounty.us.  

Youth Summer Employment Program Open

Y.O.U. is now registering youth for summer employment opportunities until Friday, April 4th.  Youth interested in a job for  2014 employment may do so online at www.youthopportunities.org. 

College Now Offers Scholarship Assistance

If you are an adult whose education was interrrupted but have obtained a high school diploma or GED, you may be eligible for assistance from the Adult Learner Program Scholarship Fund.  Application deadline is April 18th.  Contact Financial Aid Specialist Elton Lytle at 216.635.0166 for full details.

Condolences on Death of Twist Social Club Owner John Katsaros

The community is greatly saddened by the death of community stakeholder and social activist John Katsaros.  The handsome and talented  owner of Twist Social Club lost his valiant battle with cancer last Sunday.  He will be greatly missed and in our hearts forever.

Eating Smart, Being Active - Food and Nutrition Education Program Offered at Lorain Branch Library)

The Lorain Branch Library at 8216 Lorain Avenue is offering Eating Smart, Being Active nutrition education series for low income parents and grandparents.  The classes meet from 1:30 - 3 PM on Thursdays from March 6 to April 24.  Registration is required.  Call Olivia Hoge, Branch Manager at 216.623.7011.

ABC's of Preschool and Kindergarten Options
