COSE Energy Solutions Forum Businesses can learn about energy efficiency and advanced technologies that may help them manage their energy costs. Join COSE members and others on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 from 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM at Indiana Wesleyan, 4100 Rockside Road. Members $10, Non-members $20. Register online at www.cose.org/events or call 216.592.2222. Emergency Preparedness In observation of National AMBER Alert Awareness Day, everyone is encouraged to sign up for Wireless AMBER Alerts. Created in 1996 after the abduction and murder of 9 year old Amber Hagerman, the program is a voluntary partnership between law enforcement agencies, broadcasters and others. The program activates an urgent bulletin in the most serious child abduction cases. The public then becomes the eyes and ears of law enforcement. Go to www.amberalert.gov to sign up. There were four AMBER Alerts issued in 2011 encompassed in our nine county system, and all were successfully closed with the return of all four children. Neighborhood Connections Proposals Due February 10 If your block club, social group, club, or other group has a great idea for a project that benefits others, brings people together and/or benefits the community in general, Neighborhood Connections (funded by the Cleveland Foundation) wants to hear about it. The next round of proposals is due on February 10th. Go to www.neighborhoodgrants.org for proposal form and instructions. Technical assistance is available.
