Need Your GED?

Seeds of Literacy is offering free, one-to-one tutoring in basic education and GED preparation. Students work at their own pace on reading, writing and math skills in a supportive and encouraging environment.  Seeds is located at the corner of West 25th and Clark Avenue with classes held Monday - Thursday (morning, afternoon and evening).  Call Seeds of Literacy at  216.661.7950 or visit its website at www.seedsofliteracy.org.

Free Workshops for Jobseekers            

The Lakewood Family Collaborative and Cuyahoga Community College Career Development & Transition Services are teaming up to bring 4 great workshops to job seekers during the month of September.  The FREE workshops will be held every Tuesday in September from 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM at the Lakewood Public Library.  To register, job seekers may call or email the Lakewood Collaborative at lakewoodfamilycollab@gmail.com or 216.529.6868.

ESL Classes Starting

Trinity United Methodist Church at West 99th and Madison Avenue will be holding ESL (English as a Second Language) classes starting the third week in October.  Watch for further details soon.

BE THE MATCH Fundraiser for Adam Krumhansl

Longtime neighborhood residents, Jack & Liz Krumhansl, are asking our help in finding a bone marrow donor match for son Adam who was diagnosed with Lymphoma in 2007.  The BE THE MATCH fundraiser will be at STIR, 16700 Lorain Avenue on September 10th from 8 - 10 PM.  Phone Liz at 216.281.8195 to reserve tickets, join the Registry or make a donation.

Sixth Annual Cleveland Senior Walk

Get out those walking shoes to join the 6th Annual Cleveland Senior Walk on September 30th.  The purpose of the walk is to promote exercise, good nutrition and healthy life styles for older adults.  A free t-shirt will be provided to each walker along with healthy snacks and health screenings.  Contact Ray Odom at 216.664.3685 to register or get more information.

Cudell Improvement, Inc. Offices Closed In Observance of Labor Day

Both Cudell Improvement offices (Lorain and Denison) will be closed on Monday, September 6th in observance of Labor Day.
