Cudell Member and Community Volunteer Hosts Urban Foresters Neighborhood resident and Cudell volunteer, Heather White, is hosting Ohio Department of Natural Resources Urban Foresters on the Kent State University Campus in early June where Heather is Head of Grounds Maintenance. Heather was formerly Urban Forester at the city of Cleveland. Student Scholarships Up for Grabs The Clifton Arts & Musicfest will once again offer up to two $750 scholarships on a competitive basis for graduating seniors entering an accredited art program or for currently enrolled students in college pursuing visual arts studies. There is no cost to enter. For an application, go to www.cudell.com, click on the Artsfest button and scroll to the bottom of the page to download the app. Neighborhood Connections Awards $1,050 to Childrens Art Corner Due to the popularity of the Chiilrens' Art Corner every year at the Clifton Arts & Musicfest, Neighborhood Connections recently awarded $1050 to Cudell Events LLC to purchase additional easels and supplies so all the budding artists will be able to express their creative sides while parents enjoy the other art and music. Neighborhood Connections is a program of the Cleveland Foundation. Nehemiah Mission of Cleveland Volunteers to Work in 98 Great Homes Model Block Again this Summer Nehemiah Mission of Cleveland volunteers have pledged to work on the 13 homes in the 98 Great Homes Model Block this summer. This is the third summer volunteers have made a difference in people's lives by painting, fixing porches, planting flowers and repairing fences. Jim Pressler, Cudell Special Programs Manager, and Jim Szakacs, Director of Nehemiah Mission of Cleveland, have worked closely to plan a realistic work schedule that will further enhance the look of West 98th while helping to increase property values. Welcome Bobby Cain It is a great pleasure to welcome Bobby Cain to Cudell's Home Weatherization Assistance Program staff. Bobby and Michael Wise, who works part time in the weatherization program, have been attending classes at the Ohio Weatherization Training Center in Athens, OH and will soon be certified as full fledged estimator/inspectors. Both have been receiving on the job training by Jim Comiskey and Jeff Barkas, Cudell's veteran estimator/inspectors. Loans for Local Artists The NoteWorthy Federal Credit Union in Cleveland is introducing a loan designed for creative types in any medium. The Creative Arts Project loan will be available for individual artists who are affiliated with a professional artistic organization but who need more money to complete a project.
