35th Annual Meeting Scheduled for January 20, 2010

And your friends at Cudell Improvement, Inc. have a special chair set aside just for you.  Join friends and neighbors for this fun and informative get together featuring food, prizes and lots of great information about the community and its people.  Held at Brennan's Party Center, 13000 Triskett Road,  this free event is being partially underwritten by NCB/PNC.  The KeyNote Speaker is the Honorable Raymond L. Pianka, Judge, Cleveland Municipal Court, Housing Division.  The Judge will share his groundbreaking work with lenders during this storm of foreclosures.  There will also be great food and lots of door prizes.  The party starts at 6:45 PM.  See you there!

Wellington Place TownHomes The Best Bargain Around

Located on West 98th Street in the 98 Great Homes Model Block, Wellington Place TownHomes have recently been finished and are being marketed by Jim Anderson at Progressive Urban Real Estate.  The all new units range in price from $99,900 to $102,900 and carry a fine package of buyers incentives such as real estate tax abatement, possible down payment assistance from the city of Cleveland and use of the $8,000 federal tax credit.  There are amenities galore.  For example, the 3 bedroom, 1 bath townhouse at 2172 West 98th is highly energy efficient, has a first floor laundry & mud room, central air and a large attached garage.  Call Jim for a personal tour at 216.619.9696 x 25.  Cudell's deepest thanks to Park View Federal Savings for completing these units for sale in extremely tough economic times.

Shop Locally - Help Small Businesses Survive

Before heading out to the suburban, pretend downtowns, why not take a look around locally to see what our neighborhood retailers have to offer?  Money spent locally stays locally as many of our local business owners live right in the neighborhood too!  Did you know that you can buy specialty pet items, learn pole exercise, eat a great Italian meal, dine in an historic building, buy a whoppee cushion, eat firey hot chicken wings, meet your friends for Sunday breakfast, taste a Morracan pizza, buy fine wine, get the finest selection of upholstery and commercial fabric, attend a bluegress music night, get your car repaired, buy new and used work clothes and uniforms, host a tea party, order a custom made hat, buy lumber and building supplies - all in the Cudell/Edgewater neighborhood?  Look around before driving miles and miles.  You will find it, most likely, in the neighborhood.

New Wine Bar to Open at 10427 Clifton Blvd.

Who can resist that stylish shopping strip at West 105 and Clifton Boulevard?  Historic charm, outdoor seating, beautiful landscaping, lighted trees and the Busy Broad!  The Clifton Martini and Wine Bar will add flair to the mix when it opens this winter.  Owner Jeff Rumplik will welcome you into a cozy atmosphere of fine wine and spirits and unusual dining.  Another relaxing  place to enjoy locally.

CENSUS 2010 - What It Means for Cleveland

The Census will count everyone residing in the USA.  Census Day is April 1, 2010.  Census questionnaires will be delivered or mailed to households in March 2010.  With only 10 questions, the 2010 Census takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. However, as a Clevelander, that 10 minutes you spend may determine how much federal funding comes to the City and how much elected representation Clevelanders will have in the future.  That's a critical and important 10 minutes to invest in our future.  Learn more about the Census at Cudell's Annual Meeting and make sure you complete and return your questionnaire.

Warm Gear for Students of Marion C. Seltzer School

Annually, Cudell Improvement, Inc. collects mittens, hats, gloves, scarves and t-shirts for the students at Seltzer. Because of tight economic times, it is even more important this year to support the students during the cold weather.  Bring your donation to the Annual Meeting on January 20th or send a check to buy items or drop items off at either office, 9821 Lorain or 9801 Denison.  The students are most appreciative.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL FROM THE BOARD AND STAFF OF CUDELL IMPROVEMENT
