Candy Cane Cruise on Clifton Blvd. Passport Prize Winners Congratulations to the following people for winning one of the prizes in the Candy Cane Cruise Passport event on Saturday, December 5th. Local resident Preston Lampkin won the $150 cash prize donated by Cudell Improvement, Inc.; second place winner was Jessica Nash of Solon, OH who won two tickets to the December 27th Cleveland Browns game donated by Councilman Jay Westbrook; third place winner was Nathaniel Brown who won a bottle of fine French wine donated by E Z Shop on Clifton Blvd. More than 150 shoppers completed Cruise Passports while enjoying the vintage calliope, the ice carving, the musical groups, the merchants' treats and, of course, the gorgeous convertibles cruising the street - all decked out for the holidays. Remember to shop locally for the holidays. Money spent in the neighborhood stays in the neighborhood. And enjoy the light show after dark on Clifton Blvd. Save the Date for Cudell's 35th Annual Meeting on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 Housing Court Judge Raymond L. Pianka will be the keynote speaker for this important and fun event. The Judge has taken on a yeoman's role in dealing with the residential foreclosure crisis and will share his thoughts with attendees. Since the event is a Brennan's Party Center, 13000 Triskett Road, we will enjoy great food and other treats. Each attendee will receive a reusable shopping bag provided by the Census Bureau. There will be awards and recognitions of people who have greatly added value to our community, and we'll have door prizes, too! So plan to attend and bring friends. The event is FREE - thanks to the support of NCB/PNC. See you at 6:45 PM. Congratulations to Ann Zabkar, Sun Newspapers Person of the Week While others call her Ms. Zabkar or Ann, as Cudell's Business Banker from NCB/PNC, we call her A - Z! The reason? She gets everything done! Not only has A - Z been a force behind Cudell's real estate financing needs, she has volunteered on Cudell's Anniversary Committee and always helps publicize the good work Cudell does in the Cudell/Edgewater neighborhood. So when you see Ann at Cudell's Annual Meeting on January 20th, make sure you greet her as A - Z and thank you for her dedication to Cudell's work and to the many other endeavors she supports in the not for profit world. HEAP Eligibility Expanded Just as Cudell's Home Weatherization Assistance Program guidelines expanded, so have the HEAP guidlines. So a single person household may have up to $21,600 in income for the past twelve months and still qualifty for the Home Energy Assistance Program and the Home Weatherization Assistance Program.
